Aysha Boston is a proud Detroit native and aspiring urban planner who finds joy working at the intersection of people and space. Aysha’s love for Detroit is rooted in the authentic and artful nature of the culture, preserved built environment, and vibrancy and resilience of its residents. Inherently, Aysha has been committed to giving back to the city that has given so much to her.
Aysha attended Saginaw Valley State University as a student athlete where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a minor in Health Science. Thereafter, Aysha returned to Detroit to prepare and assist youth and young adults through their post-secondary education process as a college advisor at Voyageur College Prep High School. After five years, Aysha transitioned to the Detroit Promise team, organized by the Detroit Regional Chamber, to lead efforts in connecting high school graduates and college students to skilled trade programs. Aysha’s time spent in education helped her realize her passion for remedying social, educational, economic and health disparities in the urban space. With a passion for urban spaces, Aysha enrolled in the Urban Planning graduate program with Wayne State University. However, it wasn’t until she accepted a position with the Detroit Land Bank that she was completely sold on real estate development and affordable housing solutions as her concentrated career pathway.
Excitedly, Aysha is the current Project Manager for Mona Lisa Developments where she helps organize project tasks, manages tenant relations, and assists with construction and development. When she is not working, Aysha is capturing portraits and recording social experiments with her camera in her studio or wandering through the city on foot, bike, or kayak.
